Gujarat Latest News: A bill to end human sacrifice was passed in the Gujarat Assembly. This bill was passed unanimously. This bill is also against other inhuman acts and practices like black magic. This bill was introduced by Home Minister Harsh Singhvi during the monsoon session. Now it will be sent for the approval of the Governor.
The BJP government of Gujarat has also received the support of the opposition Congress in passing this bill. According to the report of Indian Express, the government has issued a statement explaining why this bill has been brought. It has been told that common people were being exploited by thugs in the name of human sacrifice and black magic.

The government statement said that it has become necessary to take appropriate and stringent legal measures to effectively prevent and eliminate the ill effects and spread of harmful and inhuman practices. This has been done to protect the common people from the trap of black magicians and fraudsters. Such antisocial and harmful activities are causing serious damage to the social fabric and the trust of the common people on reliable and scientific remedies.
Bill made keeping women in mind
It has been proposed in this bill that violating its provisions will be a punishable offense. There will be a punishment of six months to seven years and a fine of five thousand to 50 thousand rupees will also be imposed. At the same time, Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that the government has brought this law to protect women from black magic because in most of the cases they are the victims. He has termed it as a gift given to the women of Gujarat by CM Bhupendra Patel government.
