Looking at his good clothes I thought he was a boy from a rich family
Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said that Anuj had gone to Nahargarh Hill in Jaipur with a friend on August 18, when they were there, the kidnappers saw Anuj. Seeing his good clothes, they thought he was from a rich family. They gagged him, tied his hands and feet and forcibly put him in the car. They beat up his friend and left him on the roadside and fled from there. After receiving the information, Brahmapuri police in Jaipur reached the spot and searched with a drone, but Anuj could not be traced. Due to the possibility of kidnapping due to some dispute, the police formed several teams and started action.
Ransom of Rs 20 lakh demanded
During this time, the kidnappers contacted Anuj’s family and demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh. The family asked for some time as they were unable to arrange such a huge amount. Meanwhile, the police were tracing the phone number and searching for the kidnappers, who were changing their location frequently to avoid getting caught. Finally, they told the family that they would deliver the money in the last compartment of the Kalka-Shimla Express train.
The incident was carried out with the connivance of five people
The arrested persons have been identified as Virendra Singh, Vinod, Amit Kumar, Jitendra Bhandari and Jamuna Sarkar. According to the police, the kidnapping was masterminded by Virendra Singh, a software engineer who suffered financial losses in his business. He used his technical knowledge and roped in his old acquaintances Amit Kumar and Vinod Singh along with his live-in partner Jamuna Sarkar to execute the kidnapping for ransom plan.
