Train Accident News: West Bengal witnessed another rail accident on Sunday (September 1). An EMU train collided with a signal post near Padappukur station on the Shalimar Kharagpur route of South Eastern Railway. Due to this, the train remained standing on the track for about one and a half hours. During this time, the passengers traveling in the EMU train had to stay there. Railway officials and employees reached the spot as soon as they got information about the accident. There is no news of any casualty in this accident.
Due to the collision with the signal post, the iron angles got stuck in the train. Due to this, the train could not move forward even if it wanted to. Railway officials immediately called for a drill cutting machine to cut the angles. As soon as it arrived, the work of cutting the angles was started, which took about one and a half hours to complete. After the angles were removed from the EMU train, the train was ready to leave. After investigation, the railway officials sent the Pune local EMU to Shalimar.
Train accidents keep happening
In fact, in the last few months, many trains of Indian Railways have been victims of accidents. Last Sunday (25 August), eight coaches of a goods train derailed on the Gaya-Dhanbad railway line in Bihar. The goods train was loaded with coal. Fortunately, no one was injured in this accident. Similarly, on Wednesday (28 August), in the plant area of ​​NTPC’s Unchahar project in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, an engine carrying three wagons towards the yard collided heavily with another engine coming from the front. After which both the engines derailed.
22 coaches derailed in UP on August 17
About two weeks ago on August 17, 22 coaches of Sabarmati Express (Varanasi to Ahmedabad) derailed in Kanpur, UP. It was told that something was kept on the track, which the train engine collided with. Due to this, 22 bogies of the train derailed. No one was injured in this accident either. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said that there was no fracture in the railway track. Despite this, an investigation is being conducted to find out how the coaches derailed.
